As a membership organisation, SCOSLI’S vision is very much about creating a collaborative and inclusive environment led by members for the benefit of members.
While the voluntary membership committee deal with the everyday business of the association, the direction of business is guided by the membership.
Governed by articles set out in its constitution, the associations aims include:
Supporting registered sign language interpreters (RSLI/TSLI) working in Scotland.
Supporting students enrolled on a recognised interpreting course.
Promoting high standards of sign language interpreting professionals and encouraging good practice.
Promoting continuous professional development opportunities to members.
Promoting mentoring opportunities.
Liaising with other organisations to further the status and reputation of the profession.
Gathering members views and representing members at relevant meetings.
